A chemical incident at a San Fernando Valley Anheuser-Busch facility led to evacuations on Saturday. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded after employees reported a fire at the Van Nuys location, situated at 8250 N Woodley Avenue. According to a KTLA report, the incident occurred around noon, when fire crews arrived to find a large container housing an unidentified chemical partially ablaze.
The LAFD extinguished the fire and revealed that the container held approximately 10 gallons of Hydrogen Peroxide. An LAFD alert stated that specialized HAZMAT squads were dispatched to the scene for spill assessment and air quality monitoring. As a precautionary measure, the surrounding area was evacuated, and as of the latest update at 2:00 P.M., the clearance status of the evacuated zone had not been communicated.
No injuries were reported in connection to the chemical spill incident. The LAFD successfully contained the situation without any further occurrences. Hazardous material experts continued to evaluate the spill, ensuring public safety and environmental protection were met following federal and local guidelines.
