
Last Tuesday, a collision involving a police vehicle in Apache Junction has resulted in one death. The incident occurred around 4:20 p.m. near Apache Trail and Valley Drive while the officer was responding to a call. The deceased's identity has not been released, and the officer is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, as FOX 10 Phoenix reported.
An investigation is underway to determine if the police vehicle had its lights and sirens on at the time. The Apache Junction Police Department has not yet released additional information on the accident.
The accident led to road closures in all directions between Ironwood Drive and Thunderbird Drive, with no estimated time for reopening, according to 12 News.
