Memphis Police reported a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 40 this morning that resulted in one fatality. As per information confirmed by WREG, the incident occurred around 4:15 a.m. near Highway 64. The driver, whose identity had not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene.
As a result of the investigation, traffic in the area was disrupted, with the closure of the eastbound Somerville/Bolivar exit ramp. Officers at the scene redirected traffic while the cause of the accident remained under investigation. FOX13 Memphis reported that the crash occurred near Tennessee Highway 64, in the Wolfchase area.
