Around 10:30 p.m., Jacobs was driving eastbound on Indian School Road when his vehicle, after hitting the truck, went through a chain-link fence and fell onto I-17, where it was struck by a third vehicle. According to details obtained by 12 News, Jacobs was operating an Infiniti G37 at the time of the incident.

After the crash, Jacobs was freed from his vehicle and taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The 29-year-old driver of the truck also needed to be freed and is in critical condition, with updates on his condition pending. The occupant of the GMC Sierra was not injured in the collision.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
