Tragedy struck late Tuesday night when a man on a motorized scooter met with a fatal accident. According to Atlanta Police Department news release, the collision occurred at approximately 11:54 pm at 952 N Highland Ave. The emergency services found the scene confronting, with one male scooter operator pronounced dead, while the driver of a Toyota Rav4 involved in the accident stayed to cooperate with authorities.

The initial reports suggest that the deceased lost control of his scooter and veered onto oncoming traffic, which led to a head-on collision with the Rav4. The identity of the victim has yet to be released pending notification of a next of kin. The driver of the Toyota, whose identity has also not been disclosed, has not been charged as the investigation proceeds.
