Tragedy struck in Morgan Park on Chicago's South Side as two men were shot, one fatally, while inside a vehicle on Wednesday evening. According to ABC7 Chicago, a 66-year-old man was killed in the attack that took place at 118th and South Watkins Avenue. The other victim, a 50-year-old man, sustained a graze wound in the incident.
The men found themselves under fire in the 11800 block of South Watkins Avenue, the 66-year-old suffered a shot that would claim his life, and the 50-year-old, who experienced what police described as a graze wound, refused medical treatment, their experience on that day ending in starkly different manners—one rushed to the embrace of urgent care, the other left carrying the weight of resistance against succumbing to the same fate. CBS News Chicago reported that the critically wounded man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was listed in critical condition.
Authorities have yet to apprehend a suspect in relation to the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing.
