A FedEx employee, Hannah Davis, has been accused and arrested for the theft of a package containing high-value jewelry while working at the FedEx World Hub in Memphis. Action News 5 reports that the package, valued at more than $12,000, was stolen and its contents sold to a Memphis jeweler.

Following the incident, FedEx issued a statement confirming that Davis is no longer an employee with the organization, and highlighted their commitment to the security of shipments as "a top priority," as mentioned on WREG. The stolen goods, which included several gold Figaro necklaces and a unique diamond pendant, belonged to Quantum Jewelers. According to the FOX13 Memphis, suspicions arose after the sale of the items to Robert Irwin Jewelers on April 26, leading to the discovery of the theft.

Memphis Police Department alleges that Davis was caught on video with the Quantum Jewelers package inside the FedEx World Hub. It was on April 25 that she is believed to have taken the package after it was scanned into the system. An Internal investigation by FedEx corroborated these allegations, as WREG notes.

Quantum Jewelers identified the merchandise sold to the local jeweler as being in transit for delivery to their business, a fact that the employee at Robert Irwin Jewelers confirmed after contacting them. Davis, aged 26, was subsequently booked into the Shelby County Jail on a $5,000 bond and is due back in court on Monday. Her bond was set at $5,000 and it has not been disclosed how much Davis made from the sale of the stolen goods.
