Fort Lauderdale Police Seek Suspect Tydaijah Murray in Hit-and-Run That Resulted in Amputation for Good SamaritanSource: Fort Lauderdale Police Department

Fort Lauderdale officials are earnestly seeking information from the public to locate Tydaijah Sade Lashone Murray, the suspect in a hit-and-run incident that has left a man without his leg. On the early morning hours of August 11, Yevhenii Arsirii, a bystander who took it upon himself to aid a stranded motorist on the 2300 block of Northwest 6th Street, was struck in an act that witnesses and authorities have starkly described as both sudden and violent, NBC Miami reported.

Arsirii was helping to push a vehicle that had run out of gas when the crash that would alter his life occurred, and though another person at the scene and the driver of the disabled vehicle sustained only minor injuries, Arsirii's wounds were severe and ultimately irreversible, resulting in the amputation of his right leg. WSVN conveyed the statement by Fort Lauderdale Police, that the suspect had abandoned her car at the scene and fled on foot, prompting an arrest warrant for Murray, whose whereabouts remain unknown to authorities.

"We were pushing and talking about love and compassion and then everything happened," Arsirii relayed to NBC Miami back in August. In response to the ongoing search, Fort Lauderdale Police are urging those with any knowledge of Murray's whereabouts to come forward.

A GoFundMe campaign has been established in his name, providing a vital lifeline for his medical bills and recuperation. "I'm feeling pain, I'm feeling anxious and sadness," Arsirii shared in a poignant recount of his ordeal to NBC Miami, "I would say to this person to at least pay the bill."
