A 41-year-old man reported missing out of Collier County has been found safe, according to an update posted Sunday night. Kenneth Robinson had last been seen driving a blue Ford Fusion near Florida City, a Miami-Dade County community roughly 80 to 100 miles from Collier County on the far side of the Everglades, before deputies announced he had been located.
The Collier County Sheriff's Office shared the news in a brief social media update Sunday evening, simply stating that Robinson had been located after family members had voiced concern for his safety. Robinson had been described as 6 feet tall and 220 pounds, last seen wearing a white shirt, brown shorts and a white baseball cap. The sheriff's office did not release further detail on the circumstances of how or where he was found, consistent with the agency's typical practice of withholding personal specifics in missing person cases out of privacy considerations.
A Long Stretch of Highway Between Two Counties
The distance between Collier County and Florida City underscores how far the search extended. The fastest and most common route generally uses I-75 and Florida's Turnpike, while US-41, the Tamiami Trail, is a scenic direct route through the Everglades. Robinson's reported route would have crossed at least two law enforcement jurisdictions.

Robinson's case comes amid a string of recent missing person searches handled by Collier County authorities. Earlier this month, deputies sought tips after a Golden Gate Estates teen vanished overnight. In August, 15-year-old Genesis Velazquez was found safe in Collier County after being reported missing in late June, another case that relied heavily on community tips and social media sharing to reach resolution.
Multi-agency searches for missing and endangered people are not unusual in Florida. A December 2025 operation in North Florida was also referenced, without further details. No additional details on Robinson's recovery had been released as of Sunday night.
