The Fort Lauderdale Police Department reported the arrest of 29-year-old Tydaijah Sade Lashone Murray in connection with an August hit-and-run that left a good Samaritan severely injured. Murray faces charges including leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury and two counts of failure to remain on the scene of an accident involving injury, as detailed by WSVN.

On the night of Aug. 11, Yevhenii Arsirii, a 31-year-old man, had stopped to assist stranded motorists pushing their out-of-gas truck when he was struck by Murray's vehicle. Arsirii suffered catastrophic injuries resulting in the loss of his right leg and severe damage to his left. "We were pushing and talking about love and compassion and then everything happened," Arsirii recounted in an interview with NBC6.

Following the crash, instead of rendering aid, Murray allegedly left her car and fled the scene on foot. The aftermath has posed a long journey of recovery and adaptation for Arsirii, who now confronts life from a wheelchair. "You just learn how to live with it. You cry it on and then you get used to it and then you move forward," Arsirii told NBC6.

Arsirii's medical and rehabilitation expenses continue to mount, prompting his family to set up a GoFundMe page to help with the costs. Murray, on the other hand, has been booked in the Broward County Main Jail. As of yet, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department hasn't released details of the arrest. "When I have to move from wheelchair to toilet to bed to wheelchair, that’s when she comes to mind," Arsirii mentioned during a statement to WSVN concerning Murray.
