
The Fort Worth Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its own, Officer Thomas C. Bounds, who tragically passed away after a heart attack. The department's official social media post revealed that Bounds had a heart attack while on duty in the early hours of the morning, around 3:45 a.m., while attempting to escape a deep ravine as he investigated loose livestock.
According to the Fort Worth Police Department, the officer was the city's livestock officer and poundkeeper. He embarked on patrol that fateful night when he spotted the livestock, but the efforts took a demanding turn that led to the fatal heart attack, after which his body wasn't found until the following day.
With 17 years of dedicated service to the community, Officer Bounds's passing represents a significant loss for the Fort Worth Police Department. The social media tribute honors his memory, decorated with the hashtag #wewillneverforget, signaling the enduring impact of his commitment to service.
