In an effort to support those caring for loved ones with dementia, the Town of Fountain Hills, in partnership with Dementia Friendly Fountain Hills, is set to host the 2nd Annual Dementia Caregiver Summit on February 8, 2025, as Fountain Hills officials announced. The event, promising over four hours of programming under the theme "Empowering Dementia Caregivers: Strategies for Support, Communication & Self-Care," aims to equip participants with the necessary tools for managing the unique difficulties of dementia care, while also fostering community ties.

"Being a caregiver is exceptionally draining, both mentally and physically," shared Fountain Hills Councilwoman Peggy McMahon, emphasizing the summit's role in reminding caregivers that "there are resources available and a whole community to lean on," as stated by the Town of Fountain Hills. The event will be hosted at the Fountain Hills Community Center from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm.

The summit will feature expert speakers, vendors offering dementia caregiving resources, a complimentary buffet breakfast, and a free Virtual Dementia Tour on February 7 to enhance understanding of the dementia patient’s world. Registration is required for participation.

Full details around the summit and the registration process can be accessed via the official Fountain Hills website.
