As Atlanta gears up for an eclectic mix of weather in the upcoming days, residents can expect frosty mornings to lead into relatively mild afternoons for this time of year. According to the National Weather Service, today's forecast includes areas of frost before 9 am transitioning to partly sunny, with a calm wind turning east at around 5 mph in the morning and a high reaching nearly 55 degrees.
As the evening sets in, the night sky is to remain partly cloudy as the temperature drops to a low of around 42. East winds will persist through the night, gently increasing to blow steadily between 5 to 10 mph, with the potential to gust as high as 15 mph. The weekend promises to bring a mainly overcast sky with Saturday's high hovering near 54 degrees, and gusts could daringly reach up to 25 mph.
Saturday night could dampen plans with a 50 percent chance of showers forecasted, mainly after 1 am. The low will stay consistent at around 42 degrees, while the east wind maintains its presence. Sunday continues the trend with a 40 percent chance of showers, mainly before the afternoon crests, under cloudy skies and a high near 49 degrees, as detailed by NWS.
Looking ahead to the week, Monday's weather seems to take a turn for the better with mostly cloudy skies and higher temperatures reaching near 61 degrees. However, the likelihood of showers picks back up Monday night with a 40 percent chance, particularly after the twilight hours.
The NWS forecast predicts an even warmer Tuesday, with only a slight chance of showers and temperatures reaching up to 64 degrees. The same pattern of evening showers with a 40 percent chance carries over into Wednesday night, following a partly sunny day with highs near 65. The weather rollercoaster continues with Thursday bringing a 30 percent chance of rain and highs dropping back down to the mid-50s.
