
Tragedy struck early Christmas Eve when a Gainesville man was charged with the fatal shooting of a woman and the injury of a man at an encampment close to Dorsey Street. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, Gainesville Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire shortly before 4 a.m. finding two victims at the scene.
Ashley Marie Hill, also from Gainesville, was pronounced dead upon the police's arrival, while Marcus Robinson, aged 36, was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment. In an effort to apprehend the suspect, witnesses and other occupants of the camp aided the police, as per information provided by AccessWDUN.
The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Demetrius Few, was located and arrested by a joint force of Gainesville Police officers and Hall County Sheriff's deputies. Few is facing charges of malice murder and aggravated assault and is currently being held at the Hall County Jail.
