As the festive season wraps up, Goodyear residents looking to dispose of their holiday trees have straightforward options at hand; the city has arranged for curbside collection and a designated drop-off point. According to the City of Goodyear's announcement, those ready to part with their trees can do so by placing them on the curb on their next scheduled bulk trash pickup day—they can verify this date by visiting the city's trash collection webpage and using the calendar search tool.
The alternative method for disposal is dropping off trees at Sunbelt Rentals; situated for easy access, this facility welcomes trees from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through January 6, though they're closed on Sundays and will not operate on January 1. To ensure a smooth recycling process, residents are urged to strip their trees of ornaments such as lights, bulbs, and ribbons thank you decorations can be many and varied, however, these items can jam the recycling machines or otherwise hinder the recycling process, as stated by the City of Goodyear.
Goodyear officials have emphasized that the service is complimentary for local residents with a limitation in place — there is a one tree per household policy. Moreover, there is a crucial reminder for residents not to put their trees in the green recycle containers, as trees require different processing than the items typically placed in these bins. The sustainable disposal of holiday trees reflects the City of Goodyear ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, aiming to repurpose these symbols of holiday cheer into something beneficial beyond the season.
