Authorities in Gwinnett County are currently investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place late Sunday night on the 3600 block of Holland Drive. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, a 911 call around 11:30 p.m. alerted police to gunshots heard from a home, followed by commotion and arguing.
Upon arrival, officers overheard an argument inside the residence. The situation quickly escalated when a man exited the house, alleged to quickly have pointed a handgun at a police officer in the yard. In response, "the officer fired one shot, hitting the man," as per the statement obtained by FOX 5 Atlanta. The man was subsequently taken to a local hospital and remains in a stable condition.
Gwinnett County Police secured the firearm at the scene and provided immediate aid to the wounded individual.
