A major drug raid in Lawrenceville conducted by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office has resulted in the seizure of a large stash of drugs and weapons, along with a substantial cash haul. As reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, the November 26 operation uncovered nearly 72 kilograms of methamphetamine, 2 kilograms of heroin, 256 grams of fentanyl, four illegal firearms, and over $61,000 in cash.
In the same vein, authorities shared that the raid targeted a residence on the 1600 block of Purcell Road, where these illicit items were found, according to AccessWDUN. Martin Guzman-Beltran has been apprehended in connection with the finds, now facing an array of charges including trafficking methamphetamine and heroin, as well as the manufacturing of methamphetamine. During the arrest, Guzman-Beltran was found in possession of a knife and several firearms while committing a felony.
The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Section (SIS), in partnership with federal and local agencies, ran extensive planning and surveillance before executing the search warrant. Their collaborative efforts were key to the successful raid, with assistance from agencies including the Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations, the Lilburn Police Department, and Investigator C. Huff of the Gwinnett Metro Task Force.
Guzman-Beltran is currently detained at the Gwinnett County Detention Center, awaiting proceedings related to his multiple felony charges.
