
The Harris County Sheriff's Office has teamed up with several law enforcement agencies to create a task force focused on improving safety along Highway 99, also known as the Grand Parkway. Supported by the Texas Department of Public Safety and sheriff's offices from Fort Bend, Chambers, Liberty, and Montgomery counties, the initiative aims to reduce the increase in crashes and deaths on the highway, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez and Major Terry Truett from the Texas Department of Public Safety will meet on Wednesday with other law enforcement leaders. They will share plans for a new task force aimed at reducing traffic-related deaths around the Greater Houston area, as reported by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
An event at Houston Transtar will feature interviews with Sheriff Eric Fagan and Ugonna Ughanze from TXDOT, along with other officials.
