The streets of Hastings are set to come alive with festive cheer as the St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Department teams up with the Public Library System for the Hastings Hometown Christmas Parade. According to an announcement on the official county's website, the event will kick off at 10 a.m. tomorrow, marking another year of a beloved community tradition that entwines public services and local festivity.
This annual parade, which garners a sense of unity and joy, doesn't only stand to merely celebrate the season but also represents a cross-section of county departments, businesses, and schools. With the collective support from the Rotary Club of Hastings and Team UP Hastings, the community will together to positively watch the procession weave its way down Main Street. Despite the excitement, residents and visitors should be prepared to carefully navigate around traffic delays, especially around the intersection of State Road 207 and Main Street.
Complementing the parade is a Christmas market, according to the St. Johns County website, which will unfold simultaneously a stone’s throw away from the street festivities. Attendees will have the chance to indulge in local crafts, foods, and perhaps even find last-minute gifts, as they become part of a shared local economy that thrives during such community events.
