Sergeant Drane of the California Highway Patrol Oakland Area office spotted a white sedan speeding on northbound Interstate 880, leading to a chase that would soon intensify into a public concern.

The vehicle, described as traveling at high speed north of High Street, seemed to initially acknowledge the presence of authority by decelerating, only to quickly accelerate, evidently to avoid being stopped. The ensuing pursuit saw the sedan swiftly exit off the freeway at 5th Street before continuing onto Embarcadero. Finally, the vehicle stopped, enabling CHP officers to safely conduct a high-risk stop and detain the occupants without an incident to further speak about. According to the CHP Oakland, these critical moments were handled with professionalism and the utmost concern for the well-being of all involved.

A search of the sedan soon brought to light a loaded and concealed firearm, transforming this high-speed chase into a more sinister scenario. The firearm was seized, and the weapon's discovery led to the arrest of the vehicle's occupants. They were booked into the Berkeley Jail, facing multiple charges, including evading law enforcement, firearms violations, and reckless driving, as per the California Highway Patrol Oakland.
