With holiday travel at its peak, Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport expects heavy crowds. Officials recommend arriving at least three hours before your flight on Friday, the busiest day, with over 207,000 travelers expected. The peak traffic time will be between 4 p.m. and 8:30 p.m, according to  FOX 26 Houston.

Airport officials suggest checking in at terminals with shorter lines, and you can use the Skyway train or Subway to move between terminals. You can reserve parking online up to 12 hours in advance. With many travelers expected, the airport will be busy, and staff will be there to manage traffic. They also ask those dropping off passengers to follow loading rules to keep traffic moving smoothly, as reported by FOX 26 Houston.

Holiday travel is expected to increase by 50% this year compared to Thanksgiving. Travel expert Katy Nastro, speaking to "GMA," recommends adding "so make sure you're adding a bit of buffer to your transit times to the airport" to your plans, especially if you're traveling from a busy city. With a potential government shutdown affecting TSA and Air Traffic Controllers, delays are likely. "With record numbers of travelers expected, even more time factored into your airport experience can't hurt," Nastro says, as stated by ABC 13
