In a bittersweet revelation for Portland's fine dining aficionados, Quaintrelle, the upscale establishment known for its New American cuisine, has announced that it will be closing its doors permanently after an eight-year stint. Patrons can expect the restaurant to go out with a bang as it hosts its final dinner service on New Year’s Eve. OregonLive reported on the upcoming closure, highlighting the restaurant's notable run, which included survival through a pandemic and relocation.

Quaintrelle used its social media platform to express gratitude to its supporters and to extend a grand invitation to its farewell event. "As we close out this chapter at SE Clinton Street, we invite you to celebrate with us one last time the Quaintrelle way — with foie gras and caviar paired with a cocktail flight or Champagne," KOIN recounted from an Instagram post by Quaintrelle. Amidst the closures, the restaurant scene in Portland continues to evolve with the much-anticipated opening of Tréla, a Greek restaurant that is set to welcome guests in mid-December.

Tréla, brought to life by brothers Napoleon and Anthony Tzakis, promises to spotlight the freshest, locally-sourced ingredients through its Greek culinary journey. Prospective diners were tantalized by an artist's rendition of Tréla's welcoming interior—a sign of the Tzakis' brothers' attention to detail and dedication to reproducing an authentic Greek dining atmosphere. According to the report by Bridgetown Bites, Tréla is opening right in time to meet the anticipation built up over the last few years, with its grand opening scheduled for December 16.

Tréla has signaled their readiness to start taking reservations as of today. Meanwhile, for those aiming to experience Quaintrelle's signature dining one last time, the seats for their Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve events were reported to be in short supply. Quaintrelle’s historical arc began on North Mississippi Avenue in 2016 and, despite moving locations, it maintained a reputation for its seven to ten-course tasting menus and a curated a la carte selection. As per Bridgetown Bites, the closure seems to be under positive circumstances, but whether the team will embark on new gastronomic adventures remains to be seen.
