The State of Illinois is in a period of somber reflection, as Governor JB Pritzker has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff to honor the service and sacrifice of Oak Park Police Detective Allan Reddins, who died in the line of duty on November 29.
Detective Reddins, who was 40 years old at the time of his passing, leaves behind a legacy of dedication to law enforcement, having served the Oak Park Police Department since May 15, 2019, as reported by the State of Illinois.
Following the Illinois Flag Display Act, the governor's directive applies to all individuals and entities, mandating that both the United States flags and the State flags be lowered at all buildings occupied by their agency’s personnel.
