A multi-agency pursuit involving a juvenile suspect came to a dramatic conclusion in Montgomery County yesterday evening. According to information from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, reported by News 2, the action began shortly before 5 p.m. when deputies attempted a traffic stop at the intersection of North Ford and Chapel Street. The vehicle in question, however, refused to comply, and a chase ensued.
Despite the dangerous nature of the chase, which saw police momentarily ceasing their pursuit, the vehicle was later spotted on Whitfield Road. When authorities attempted to intervene again, the suspect driving the car fled and, during the pursuit, an gun was reportedly thrown from the window. This discarded weapon was later retrieved by law enforcement officers, as mentioned in WSMV.
It was the collaborative effort of Clarksville police that brought an end to the chase. With strategic use of spike strips, the police were able to disable the fleeing vehicle on Madison Street near Porters Bluff. Subsequently, a "juvenile male" was detained and now faces a litany of charges. These charges include window tint violation, theft of property, felony evading, tampering with evidence, possession of burglary tools, and various drug-related offenses, among others.
The juvenile, who remains unnamed due to his status as a minor, was also charged with possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony and driving on a revoked license. "A juvenile male was taken into custody," MCSO Lt. Bishop Delaney confirmed, according to Clarksville Now. The case is active and ongoing, and authorities have stated that no further information is presently available.
