Deep Roots Produce, located on Whitneyville Avenue at 84th Street in Caledonia Township, announced that with approximately 60 trees still on its lot, they are opting to gift them rather than continue sales. WOODTV reported that the farm has extended an open invitation to those who may be struggling during the festive season to receive a free Christmas tree.
Deep Roots Produce shared on social media that they are aware "the holidays can be tough for many." Offering a glimmer of Christmas joy, details from their social media post, obtained by Deep Roots Produce, outline that those interested can visit the farm today or tomorrow between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Alternatively, for those unable to make the trip and residing within a 10-mile radius, the farm has offered a delivery service.
Following the announcement, Deep Roots Produce updated the public via their Facebook page, revealing an "overwhelming response" to the giveaway. As reported by WZZM13, the farm anticipates that based on the strong interest, all trees might be picked up this evening, although initially, they intended to extend the opportunity until tomorrow.
