As the holidays approach, Kingsport gears up to celebrate Christmas with an array of festive events tailored to uplift the community spirit. According to a recent release on the city's official website, the Kingsport Carousel and Glen Bruce Park will be the epicenters of joy, bringing together families for timeless holiday experiences. In partnership with the Downtown Kingsport Association, "This is Kingsport" has curated a series of engaging happenings that are sure to enchant residents and visitors alike.
Tomorrow, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., revelers can freely enjoy twilight carousel rides surrounded by the glimmer of Christmas lights. The festivities continue on Friday with "Christmas at the Carousel," featuring an afternoon filled with carousel rides, playground fun, and Christmas crafts—capped off with complimentary treats, while they last. The event, as detailed on the city's website, also invites families for photo opportunities with the vintage fire trucks ‘Old Huldy & Red Annie’ and character visits from Buddy the Elf, Elsa, Olaf, and Santa Claus.
Musical entertainment is not in short supply, with the Washington Elementary School ‘Patriot Pulse’ students set to perform on Friday at 6:15 p.m. in Glen Bruce Park. The young musicians' rhythmic drumming will provide a festive soundtrack to the falling snow, enhancing the evening's wintery enchantment. The following Saturday promises to bring the magic of The Polar Express to life at the Kingsport Farmers Market from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Children will have the opportunity to watch the holiday classic movie, enjoy hot chocolate, and partake in a special Christmas craft session.
Concluding the week's celebrations, the Holloway School of Dance is scheduled to put on a special performance in Glen Bruce Park on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Following the performance, attendees can expect to marvel at the falling snow throughout the park—an element meant to add an extra sparkle to the experience. Christmas in the Park also continues its tradition this year, featuring over 100 Christmas trees decorated by local businesses and city departments, serving as a festive showcase throughout December in Glen Bruce Park and Centennial Park. These details, as provided on the Kingsport City website, illustrate the community's effort to bring holiday cheer to the heart of Kingsport.
