
Early Thursday morning, a series of events unfolded that left one man dead, and another seriously injured in Knoxville. According to WVLT, the Knoxville Police Department responded to a shooting report at North Hills Apartments around 3:40 a.m. At the 2900 block of Washington Pike, a car with a man who had sustained at least one gunshot wound crashed into a fence. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Knoxville Police Department has not identified a suspect, the homicide unit is leading an ongoing investigation. Those with potentially helpful information are asked to report anonymously to East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers. Responding to the scene, officers also discovered a second man, with serious injuries taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, as per the information obtained by WBIR.
Further details shared by WATE elaborate that the second victim was found within the apartment complex. It is believed that after the initial shooting occurred in the Washington Pike area, the wounded man sought help at the North Hills Apartment complex.
