The event, facilitated by the Marine Corps League Detachment #757 and the USS Arizona Relic Committee, will take place at 10:00 A.M. at London Bridge Beach Park.
At the heart of the ceremony is a special viewing of a relic from the USS Arizona, an artifact representing a deep-rooted historical tragedy. As reported by the city's official news release, this 4-foot by 6-foot, 520-pound piece of the battleship's aft deckhouse is a tangible connection to the past, commemorating both the lives lost and the heroism displayed.
The Marine Corps League Detachment #757 was entrusted with the relic, which they plan to permanently display in the community. Efforts are underway to raise funds and gather in-kind donations to ensure the relic finds a fitting home at London Bridge Beach.
