Lake Havasu City's spirit of holiday generosity continues with the 21st Annual Free Community Dinner, bringing together residents for a celebratory feast on December 13. Slated at the Aquatic/Community Center, this event welcomes everyone free of charge, with two serving times to accommodate as many as possible: an Early Bird option at 4 p.m. and a second helping at 6 p.m., with doors opening respectively at 3:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. First come, first served is the rule of the evening, with a maximum attendee capacity set for 500 people per serving. Integral to the continuation of this annual tradition are the volunteers, local businesses, and organizations that generously donate their time and resources. The London Bridge Rotary Club, Lake Havasu Rotary Club, Sunrise Rotary Club, the Daybreakers Lions Club, and Kiwanis of Lake Havasu are to be thanked for the donated turkeys from Bashas'. These are expertly prepared by Master Chef Christopher Gallaga along with W.A.V.E. Culinary and Hospitality students. With a smorgasbord of holiday favorites on the menu, guests can indulge in turkey, ham, potatoes and gravy, stuffing, and assorted vegetables. Dinner is rounded off with pie donated by Smith’s Food and Drug and beverages from the Lake Havasu Firefighter Charities.
The festivities are set to include a visit from Santa Claus himself at both the early and later servings, delighting young attendees with gifts. Courtesy of the River Riders Motorcycle Club, children can anticipate leaving with a toy. For those moments worth cherishing, HavaPic, sponsored by Anderson Auto Group, will be on-site throughout the evening to capture the event's memories.
