Chelan County officials are on the lookout for a suspect involved in a case of vandalism in Leavenworth. Late in the evening of December 22, a truck was spotted engaging in destructive behavior within the confines of Gazebo Park. According to a report by the City of Leavenworth, at around 11:30 pm, a silver Toyota Tundra inflicted significant damage, effectively churning a sizeable expanse of parkland into disarray.
The vehicle, a 2024 model bearing Texas license plate TTR1528, was seen and videotaped by witnesses as it brazenly spun donuts, tearing up a stretch of grass measuring 90 feet by 50 feet. The Sheriff's Office, led by Sheriff Mike Morrison, is rallying to coax forth any leads that may guide them to promptly locate the driver -– a white male estimated to be in his 20s or 30s. Although the suspect remains unidentified, his actions have set the stage for probable cause for an arrest on counts of reckless driving and malicious mischief in the second degree.
As the investigation forges ahead, deputies are canvassing for additional information and reviewing witness statements. They urge anyone with insights about the incident or the suspect to promptly make contact with the Chelan County Sheriff's Office at 509-667-6845. Alternatively, tips can be discreetly submitted through the office's online portal.
