Residents of the 3500 block of Pacific Avenue in Livermore were struck by tragedy on Monday as a two-alarm fire tore through an apartment complex, causing major damage to two units while others are still under assessment. Amidst the smoke and uncertainty, a small beacon of hope shined through when a kitten was safely rescued and returned to its owner, as reported by the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department in a recent social media post.
The fire, which has left residents in a state of distress, resulted in minor injuries to two firefighters. According to the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, one was treated right at the scene, bravely demonstrating the inherent risks our first responders continually agree to take. The other was transported to the hospital and is reportedly in good condition.
