Motorists in Decatur may need to adjust their routes as a section of Livingstone Place is set to be temporarily closed. The affected stretch, between East College Avenue and Craigie Avenue, will not be accessible to through-traffic from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, until December 20, according to a news release from DeKalb County Government. The closure comes as a result of a watermain replacement effort at the 718 address on Livingstone Place.
During the road work, the county will set up detour signs to guide drivers and keep traffic flowing smoothly. These signs will also inform residents and visitors about local traffic restrictions and construction. Some inconvenience is expected, but traffic should return to normal once the work is complete.
Anyone looking for more details on the closure or the watermain project itself should not hesitate to contact Drew Smith, the project engineer from Garney Construction. Smith can be reached by phone at 813-675-7878 for queries or concerns related to the project.
