Hector Steve Posado-Mendoza was arrested at Harry Reid International Airport last Sunday. He allegedly broke through airport doors and bypassed security to approach a private plane. The incident was reported by FOX5 Vegas.
Arriving officers found Posado-Mendoza on the entry steps of the airplane after knocking an airport badge reader off the wall while trying to get outside. “He was 'sweating profusely and acting paranoid,” the officers said. He was detained before he could board the plane and had not entered it. Airport staff witnessed his erratic behavior. “He asked people nearby to call 911.” He grabbed a landline phone from a receptionist's counter, threw it to the ground along with his cellphone, and also demanded a torch light, as stated by FOX5 Vegas.
Posado-Mendoza was reported to have forced his way through two sets of sliding glass doors. The airline staff said, “Once he sat on the top steps of the plane, he asked the airplane staff to call the police again.” Earlier, he had thrown a landline phone, his cellphone, and a lighter to the ground inside the building. After his arrest, he was taken to a hospital for evaluation. He faces charges of violating airport rules and trespassing. Authorities are still investigating the incident, in a statement obtained by KTNV.
