A man was shot and critically wounded in the 2900 block of James Cool Papa Bell in broad daylight yesterday, as confirmed by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. At around 12:45 p.m., District 4 officers arrived at the scene to find a 31-year-old man laying outside a Hyundai Santa Fe with apparent bullet holes, which had come to a stop against a tree – the man lay in the street, barely conscious and fighting for his life.

The neighborhood was punctured by the echo of gunfire, shattered peace as numerous shell casings littered the block, testimony to the violence that transpired, the vehicle riddled with bullet holes stands as a grim marker of the day's chaos. Emergency medical services rushed the victim to an area hospital where he remained, as of last report, in critical and unstable condition, while police have been canvassing the area, searching for leads in an ongoing investigation that has so far yielded more questions than answers.

The authorities have issued a call to the public for any information related to the shooting.
