Early last Friday morning ended in tragedy on SR-4 just east of Bailey Road, as reported by CHP Contra Costa, where a four-vehicle collision claimed the life of a man and left others with minor injuries. The incident involved a Hyundai sedan, two Toyota Camrys, and a Dodge Ram, each operated by a single male driver.
The lethal sequence unfolded around 5:05 AM and, according to the CHP, resulted in the death of the Hyundai's driver. While the Camry drivers sustained suspected minor injuries, the driver of the Dodge Ram emerged unharmed, and they all were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles. It was further identified that the deceased was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, an omission that perhaps underlines the importance of such safety measures.
Investigators have ruled out DUI as the cause, but the crash remains under investigation as officials appeal to the public for any witnesses to come forward. Those with information about the crash or the events leading up to it have been urged to contact CHP Contra Costa in Martinez at (925) 646-4980 or via email at [email protected].
