A 51-year-old man's life was cut short in a spate of gunfire on Chicago's Near West Side. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the shooting occurred on the 2000 block of West Randolph Street, where the victim was repeatedly shot near the street at approximately 5:28 p.m. on Monday.
The man was swiftly transported to Stroger Hospital in an attempt to save his life, but the wounds proved fatal. Currently, Chicago authorities are hunting for the perpetrator, as no arrests have been made in connection to the incident.
