A man has lost his life due to a shooting while seated as a passenger in a car in East Garfield Park, Chicago, authorities reported on Friday.
The Chicago police stated that the shooting occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. in the 3800 block of West Adams Street; the man was hit in the head by gunfire and was swiftly transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to a report from Chicago Sun-Times, but as of now, the identity and age of the victim have not been released, and no one had been taken into custody at the scene nor had they made an arrest early Friday evening.
In a separate report by ABC7 Chicago, it was detailed that the incident took place specifically at around 5:16 p.m., pinpointing the location to Garfield Park.
The police are actively investigating the shooting.
