The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) responded to a report of gunshots at around 5:37 a.m. near the intersection with South Carrollton Avenue, as noted by WWLTV. The area of the shooting, the 4000 block of Tulane Avenue, is home to Club Extasis, which police specified as the venue outside which the incident occurred. According to FOX 8 Live, NOPD officers cordoned off the nightclub parking lot with crime scene tape and interviewed several witnesses on scene. Some of these witnesses were dressed in black T-shirts bearing the word "Security," indicating their possible affiliation with the nightclub.
