
A man is recovering from serious injuries after being shot in Phoenix, according to authorities. The incident occurred early yesterday morning when police responded to a call at a Circle K gas station located near 19th Avenue and Broadway Road at around 7 a.m., FOX 10 Phoenix reported. Officers on the scene discovered an adult male with a gunshot wound in a vehicle.
Further investigation indicates that the shooting likely took place near 7th Avenue and Pima Street, after which the victim managed to drive himself approximately three miles to the Circle K location, where the issue became apparent and emergency services were called Sgt. Rob Scherer mentioned in a statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix, "Officers learned that the shooting occurred in the area of 7th Avenue and Pima Street after which the victim self-transported to 19th Avenue."
The victim was immediately transported to a nearby hospital. While his injuries are serious, they have been deemed non-life-threatening. Due to the ongoing investigation, the Circle K store remains closed, according to the latest updates from officials.
Arizona's Family confirmed seeing a portion of the gas station cordoned off as detectives arrived to begin their investigation into the events that led to the original incident, with no suspect information or names being released at this time as the inquiry unfolds.
