
A 23-year-old man was reportedly shot in the foot during an attempted robbery while taking out his trash in the Baden neighborhood, as confirmed by St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The incident occurred last Friday, in the afternoon and the victim managed to seek aid at a local hospital; there, the authorities were alerted to the shooting.
The altercation began when the victim, in the alley of the 800 block of Wall Street was confronted by an armed, masked individual who announced a robbery according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the man, attempting to protect himself, drew his own handgun, this action set off a struggle with the assailant during which a shot discharged and hit the man's foot. Despite the injury, the young man was able to escape to his home before being transported to the hospital.
District Six Detectives have since been occupied with the investigation into the matter, as there are elements yet to be pieced together and questions still unanswered. The identity of the masked suspect remains unknown, and the authorities are seeking assistance from the public for any tip that could lead to an arrest.
