Yesterday evening, in Penrose, a 23-year-old man was shot in the leg. The incident took place in a motel on the 3900 block of N Kingshighway, according to a press release from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers from District 6 responded to the scene around 8:00 p.m., following a call about the shooting. It appears the victim had provided a courtesy to a woman, allowing her to use the bathroom in his motel room. Her father, a man whose identity remains unknown, knocked, looking for her and upon being informed she was in the restroom, forcibly removed her before shooting the 23-year-old man in the leg.
Emergency Medical Services were quick to the scene, transporting the injured man to a nearby hospital. He was later listed as stable. The motive for the shooting is still unknown, and investigators are working with limited information.
