Authorities in Georgia have launched a manhunt for a suspect connected to a triple homicide that occurred near the Georgia-South Carolina state line. As reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office are seeking the public's assistance in locating Shannon Box, 56, of Tignall, who is believed to be involved in the deaths of three people and the assault of a woman.
The call that initiated the search was in response to an injured woman at a residence in Tignall at around 8:30 a.m. on last Thursday. Investigators subsequently discovered a second home where three victims were found deceased. According to the Associated Press, Box, the suspect, allegedly attacked the woman and now faces charges that include one count of aggravated assault, and he is also a person of interest in connection with the triple homicide.
Box was last seen driving a grey 2002 GMC Sierra pickup truck, bearing a Georgia Handicap Tag YXA119. The GBI has issued an appeal to anyone with knowledge of Box’s current location to come forward.
