As Mankato residents prep their homes for the festive cheer of Christmas, the City has laid out a practical blueprint for the yuletide week ahead. In an unadorned announcement made through a post on its official Facebook page, the City of Mankato, Minnesota Government has stipulated that all City offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, in recognition of Christmas Day. Essential services such as City bus transportation will also halt operations for the day.
In alignment with the seasonal adjustments, the city is orchestrating an altered garbage and recycling collection timetable. Mankato's regular waste removal services, usually in motion on Wednesday, will undergo a temporary shift, with the City choosing to fully suspend garbage and recycling pick-ups on December 25. Instead, Wednesday's refuse will be collected on Thursday, December 26. Consequently, Thursday's collections are to be postponed to Friday, December 27, as detailed in the City's Facebook post. Both changes exhibit a knock-on effect, paving the way for Friday's waste retrievals to be deferred to Saturday, December 28.
