The City of Maricopa is offering both drop-off and pickup services for tree disposal. From next Monday to January 13, 2025, two designated drop-off sites will be available for residents to dispose of their trees, according to a recent announcement on the city’s official website.

Residents who choose to drop off their trees can do so at two locations: one at the southwest corner of Cesar Chavez and Plainview St., and another across from the Maricopa Stanfield Justice Court on Wilson Ave. Both sites will be marked with cones and caution tape. No assistance will be provided, and the city has set the following guidelines for tree disposal: remove all decorations, do not include tree stands, and place only trees or wreaths in the designated areas. The city advises that dumping items other than Christmas trees is prohibited.

In addition to the drop-off sites, residents have alternatives through their local waste collection services. Waste Management allows residents to schedule their bulk pickup disposal online, accepting trees up to 6 feet in height without any decorations or tree stands. Waste Connections of Arizona also provides "Bulk Collection" services and requires that trees be no taller than 4 feet and placed on the curb by 6 a.m. on the scheduled collection day. To schedule a pickup with Waste Connections of Arizona, residents are advised to call (844) 708-7274, as per the city's announcement.
