Artists in Maricopa have more time to apply for the city's "Celebration of the Arts" Grant Program, thanks to a recent extension. The program supports local artistic projects and promotes cultural engagement. "Art has the remarkable ability to transcend boundaries, cultivate dialogue, and forge connections," Vice Mayor Amber Liermann said in a City of Maricopa statement.
The Vibrant City Art Grant invites Maricopa artists, collectives, and organizations to apply for grants of up to $1,500. This funding supports art projects in public spaces, including performances, workshops, and pop-up events that engage and inspire the community.
The Support the Community Art Grant offers up to $3,000 to local non-profits promoting inclusivity in the arts. This funding will help create cultural opportunities such as residencies and festivals. "From vibrant festivals to transformative residencies, the Support the Community Art Grant empowers organizations to harness the power of art as a force for positive change," said the City of Maricopa.
Applications for both grants are open until Friday, January 31, giving artists more time to apply. Submissions will be reviewed in early January, with final approval based on merit. Results will be announced in February 2025.
