Maya Smith, Associate Head of School at Fenway High, has been named Assistant Principal of the Year for 2025 by the Massachusetts School Administrators' Association. With over 20 years of experience in education, Smith has held various leadership roles, including Special Education Director at Fenway, before becoming Associate Head of School three years ago, according to the City of Boston.
"We are thrilled to celebrate Maya for being named Assistant Principal of the Year by MSAA," said Boston Public Schools Superintendent Mary Skipper. She praised Smith for her commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive school environment, helping teachers, and empowering students to succeed. As the leader of the Math and Student Support Teams, Smith has been a key factor in Fenway's success, which was recognized as a DESE School of Recognition in 2024, as reported by the City of Boston.
