In an effort to enhance public engagement and operational efficiency, Medford City Council is updating their meeting times beginning the new year. As reported by the City of Medford, Council sessions are being moved to the first and third Wednesdays of every month with a starting time of 6 p.m. This scheduling change, departing from the previous Thursday slots, is slated to offer residents a more consistent and predictable timetable for civic involvement.
Note, however, that the January 1 meeting is postponed to the following Wednesday, January 8, due to New Year's Day. "Starting January 1, 2025, the Medford City Council will meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month, with Study Sessions on the second Wednesday of the month," the city's announcement explains.
Following the adjusted kick-off, the regular council meeting is expected to resume its newly established routine on Wednesday, January 15, at 6 p.m. The city's endeavor to adjust the meeting schedule reflects a commitment to improving accessibility and transparency for Medford's engaged citizens.
