Memphis Police Department has recently announced the arrests of two individuals, Kemonta Woodland, 18, and an unnamed 17-year-old after a carjacking incident led to a police chase and crash. According to the authorities, on Tuesday, a victim was robbed at gunpoint and his Honda Pilot was stolen during what was supposed to be a sale of an item as communicated on the MPD's Facebook page and detailed in the victim's statement to police, as reported by Action News 5.

The subsequent pursuit yesterday culminated in the stolen Honda Pilot crashing into a pole on James Road after which Woodland and the minor ran from the scene; they were quickly apprehended, the chase having spanned an approximate 1.6 miles, and it's noteworthy that during the arrest Woodland was charged with two counts of carjacking and employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony among other charges, while the juvenile faces charges for theft of the property and evading arrest. FOX13 Memphis reports that bonds for the suspects have not been set at the time.
