The Memphis Police Department is actively seeking a suspect involved in a recent armed robbery at a local Exxon gas station. According to Action News 5, the incident occurred last Saturday, when officers were dispatched to 2666 Watkins Street following the robbery report. The suspect, described as a male dressed in a black and red sweater, black pants, red and white shoes, and a red hat, is said to have robbed the victim at gunpoint while he was pumping gas into his vehicle.
Surveillance footage captured by Exxon’s security system revealed the suspect arriving at the scene in a red Chevrolet Malibu. The video showed the male suspect disembarking from the vehicle, confronting the victim with a silver handgun, and taking an estimated $20 in change from the victim's vehicle before fleeing southbound on Watkins Street, as detailed in the Action News 5 report.
The Memphis Police Department provided additional details about the robbery and appealed to the public for information that could lead to the suspect's capture. Individuals with knowledge of the case can submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers, which offers a personal ID number to maintain anonymity, as stated in a Facebook post by the department. The department also encouraged the use of the P3 Tips mobile app to securely share information related to the suspect or the crime.
