Residents of Menomonee Falls, take note: your post-Christmas trash routine is about to shift. Announced by the Public Works Department, there will be no residential garbage or recycling collection service on Wednesday. If you're used to rolling out your bins on a Wednesday, you'll have to pause for the holiday, as per Village of Menomonee Falls official release.
The brief disruption in service is due to the observance of Christmas Day. After the holiday, collection will resume but with a delayed schedule that pushes back pickup by one day throughout the remainder of the week. While families are busy unwrapping gifts, the usual bustle of garbage trucks will be absent from the streets, only to return, filled with the detritus of celebration, later than usual.
This change means that if your garbage day was on the Wednesday, you'll need to wait until today to haul your bins curbside. Likewise, Thursday pickups will shift to Friday, and so on. The schedule shift allows workers to spend the holiday with their families and gives the sanitation system a brief respite before handling the increase in post-holiday waste. As a result, the Public Works Department urges residents to mark the adjustment on their calendar to avoid any misunderstanding, and to ensure a smooth and efficient collection process.
For those who have questions or require further information regarding the holiday garbage collection schedule, the Public Works Department has made themselves available. By simply dialing 262-532-4700 or sending an inquiry to [email protected], residents can get answers straight from the source regarding the modified pickup schedule.
